Jazz Up January with Exciting Entertainment

Get into the groove of the New Year with a few laughs, great tunes, maybe a few tears, and an entertainment-fueled night.

The 5th Annual Charleston Jazz Fest is taking over January with four days of jazz greats (see Bobby McFerrin Saturday night) and Charleston’s own (such as the Charleston All-Star Youth Jazz Orchestra and Charleston School of the Arts Jazz Band) getting down with swing, salsa, blues, Brazilian and more. All Aboard the Comedy Bus for some knee-slapping insight into the stories of Charleston that you won’t find anywhere else. You may not leave feeling more enlightened with new information, but this locals-led take on the city is pure entertainment. Keep the laughs going until the tears roll at Charleston’s home of improve — Theatre 99. Cast members take cues from members in the audience and act out each scene on the spot in shows like Laugh for a Lincoln and Improv Riot. And, this month stick around the 16th Annual Charleston Comedy Festival.
